A quick-sinking, extra-buggy mayfly nymph with built-in movement. The Bead Rubber Leg Pheasant Tail keeps the slim, natural PT profile and copper rib, then adds a bead for depth and rubber legs that kick and pulse—perfect for riffles, runs, and pocket water.

  • When it excels: Spring and fall mayfly activity; overcast days; clear to lightly stained water; riffles, knee-deep runs, and soft inside seams
  • Why it works: Bead drives fast sink and balance; pheasant tail fibers and copper rib read “natural,” while rubber legs add lifelike motion and a strike trigger
  • Pack size: 3 flies
  • Targets: Trout (rainbow, brown, brook)
  • Ready to fish: Durable wraps and consistent proportions for repeatable, bottom-tracking drifts

How to fish it

Dead-drift under an indicator at ~1.5× water depth or tightline/Euro with steady contact; add a small split shot 8–12" above if you aren’t ticking bottom. Run it as the point fly and trail a smaller midge or PT 12–18" behind. Finish each drift with a gentle lift to suggest an ascending nymph.

Care

Rinse after use and air-dry before boxing to prevent hook corrosion.
