A simple, high-confidence attractor that imitates inchworms and caddis larvae. The Green Weenie (Bead) pairs bright green chenille with a sleek metal bead for quick depth—perfect for prospecting riffles, under overhanging limbs, and along soft edges when fish want an easy meal.
-
When it excels: Late spring through early fall (inchworm season) and after light rains; riffles, inside seams, and under tree canopies
-
Why it works: Bold green profile is easy for trout to spot; bead head gets it down and keeps the drift tight to the strike zone
-
Pack size: 3 flies
-
Targets: Trout (rainbow, brown, brook); bonus takes from panfish in stillwaters
-
Ready to fish: Durable wraps and consistent proportions for repeatable, bottom-tracking drifts
How to fish it
Dead-drift under an indicator at ~1.5× water depth or tightline/Euro with steady contact; add a tiny split shot 8–12" above if you aren’t ticking bottom. Run it 12–24" below a buoyant dry near overhanging trees, and add subtle twitches to suggest a struggling inchworm.
Care
Rinse after use and air-dry before boxing to prevent hook corrosion. Smooth chenille if it mats after a fish.
Satisfaction
30-day returns/exchanges.
