Flying Ant Black | 3 Pack

A deadly terrestrial dry for late-summer “ant falls.” The Black Flying Ant’s slender, segmented body, subtle wing shimmer, and low-riding profile match the real swarms that drive trout wild on warm, humid days after rain.

  • When it excels: Late summer into early fall; warm, humid afternoons after rain; foam lines, eddies, undercut banks, and lake slicks
  • Why it works: Black silhouette and spent-style wings sit flush in the film, matching natural ant falls that trout key on aggressively
  • Pack size: 3 flies
  • Targets: Trout (rainbow, brown, brook); also tempts panfish in stillwaters
  • Ready to fish: Sparse, durable tie with consistent proportions for delicate, drag-free drifts

How to fish it

Use a 9–12 ft leader with 5X–6X and dead-drift over rise rings and along soft seams; add tiny micro-twitches if fish inspect but won’t commit. On lakes, target wind lanes and slicks where ants collect. If refusals start, drop one size or lengthen tippet.

Care

Rinse after use and air-dry before boxing. Dress wings and thorax lightly; revive with a powder/shake desiccant after a dunk or fish.

Satisfaction

30-day returns/exchanges.
