An all-season, buggy nymph with quick depth and natural appeal. The Hare’s Ear Bead Nymph keeps the classic spiky hare’s-mask body and copper rib, then adds a bright bead—delivering a lifelike mayfly/caddis profile that trout trust in riffles and knee-deep runs.
-
When it excels: Spring through fall around mayfly/caddis activity; riffles, pocket water, and soft inside seams
-
Why it works: Guard hairs suggest legs and gills; bead drives fast sink and a steady, bottom-hugging drift; slim segmentation reads “natural” in clear water
-
Pack size: 3 flies
-
Targets: Trout (rainbow, brown, brook)
-
Ready to fish: Durable wraps and consistent proportions for repeatable presentations
How to fish it
Dead-drift under an indicator at ~1.5× water depth or tightline/Euro with steady contact; add a small split shot 8–12" above if you aren’t ticking. Run it as the point fly and trail a tiny midge or pheasant tail 12–18" behind. Finish each drift with a gentle lift to flash the thorax like an ascending nymph.
Care
Rinse after use and air-dry before boxing to prevent hook corrosion. Smooth dubbing fibers if they matte after a fish.
Satisfaction
30-day returns/exchanges.
